Friday Favorites

Thought I'd throw in a Friday Favorite this week -- back to Thoughtful Friday next week!

Rowan Scottish Tweed Aran -- Lovat

Isn't it pretty?  It reminds me of the cloak that Elizabeth Bennett wears when she goes walking to visit her sister Jane in the BBC's adaptation of Pride & Prejudice.  I keep picturing it as a cabled hat, maybe a greenery hat [rav link], or a rogue sweater [rav link]?  Or maybe a simple raglan cardigan with dark wood toggle buttons... I just love fall, there are so many possibilities!  Now if I only I had the time to knit them all.

Ah, summer. It's almost over. How did it get to be August already?!?
In the spirit of time flying and taking time to smell the flowers, this week's favorite is a cheery colorway that just says summer to me.

This yarn makes me want a cardigan with cables; something that's not too warm for fall weather; something to wear with brown trousers in the park...

It's not even really summer and all I can think about is fall.  Probably not too surprising since it's 50 degrees and raining.  Here's hoping it's warmer where you are!

Friday Favorites

I can't believe that it's Friday already. There's something about those 4 day weeks that makes me feel very, very behind.

Not so behind though to show you something new to the shop in a gorgeous colorway:

Dream in Color Smooshy Sock -- Dusky Aurora

Now maybe it's my love of science fiction/fantasy or one too many astronomy classes, but I think this color is just about perfect. I've never actually gotten to see the northern lights, but it's on my 100 things to do list! In the meantime I'd settle for a pair of aurora socks.

* Dream in Color Smooshy Sock will be added little by little to the shop over the weekend. Get them while they're in -- we only have 3 of each color and it takes months for new orders to arrive.

Friday Favorites

Every other Friday I plan to feature one of my favorite yarns/colorways. Because I can. :) And because there are some gorgeous yarns to feature. How fun! (for me anyway, and hopefully for you)
